Leech Lake Fisheries Plan

The DNR has been working with a 16-person team, called the Leech Lake Fisheries Input Group, to figure out management for a variety of fish populations.

Leech Lake saw walleye populations dip before picking back up to what’s now a stable state. Given this positive trend, the DNR has decided to bring some focus to types of fish they haven’t looked at previously.

The current proposal also features detailed numbers for where walleye, yellow perch and northern pike fish should be by 2020.
