Bemidji Symphony Orchestra Prepares For 80th Season Finale

The Bemidji Symphony Orchestra is preparing for the finale of the 80th season with a piece titled “Symphony: This Will Be Our Reply.”

The concert is unique in the fact that BSO is one of only three other orchestras that are premiering the piece. BSO has teamed up with three area choirs, including the Bemidji State Choir, the Bemidji Chorale and the Park Rapids Choir, to truly make the show memorable. The composer of the work, Lucas Richman, will also be in attendance.

Dr. Beverly Everett, BSO Music Director, says, “One unique thing that will happen after that afternoon is that right after the concert, Mr. Richman will be available for a question and answer time, so if the audience wants to stay for just a few minutes and kind of ask him some questions about what led him to write this piece, you know, what makes a person have this idea? Where did he get these ideas? It’s a wonderful opportunity to interact with him.”

The concert will be held this Sunday in the Bemidji High School auditorium. It starts at 3 p.m.
