After a fatal motorcycle accident Friday night near Bemidji other motorcycle crashes were reported over the weekend from the Lakeland Viewing area.

A motorcyclist was injured Sunday when the Harley Davidson he was driving rear-ended a Honda Accord while they were stopped for traffic in the southbound lane on Highway 371 at Pine Beach Road, north of Baxter.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol the driver of the Harley, 52- year- old, Vicente Amoles of Crystal City, Texas, was transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda, 59- year- old, Samuel Perez, of Austin, Texas had no apparent injuries. The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Minnesota State Patrol at the scene.

The other crash took place Friday when the Harley Davidson he was driving went off the roadway onto the soft shoulder and lost control on Highway 65 in Aitkin County.

The Minnesota State Patrol says accident 60-year-old, Eddie S. Amiot, of Walker, was wearing a helmet, and was taken to Centra Care St. Cloud Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The state patrol said the Harley crashed when Amiot lost control and tried to correct.

The Aitkin Police Department assisted at the scene.
