After the officer involved shooting that happened Tuesday in Alexandria, the St. Paul Police Department who has been conducting the investigation into the shooting released the name of the man who was shot.

Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension agents in downtown Alexandria shot 31-year-old Adam Jo Klimek, of Carlos, Minnesota during an undercover operation Tuesday afternoon that involved the sexual solicitation of minors.

The Forum News Service says numerous BCA agents entered a single-family home in Alexandria and encountered Klimek, who had a knife. He then charged three agents, two of which fired their weapons. The two were Elizabeth Eilers and Dustin Van de rhagen.

The agents called paramedics, but Klimek was declared dead at the scene. The Anoka County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to determine an exact cause of death.

At the request of the BCA St. Paul police are conducting the official investigation because their agents were involved in the shooting. Once the investigation is complete the police will turn its findings over to the Douglas County Attorney’s Office for further examination.
