Brainerd Man Killed In Head-On Crash

A Brainerd man died early Monday morning after a head-on collision on Highway 210 near Crow Wing County Road 59 in Ironton.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the man killed was 30- year- old Richard D. Van Horn of Brainerd.

The state patrol says Van Horn was driving a Chevy truck westbound on Highway 210 when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a semitrailer pulling a utility trailer. The Chevy went into the ditch and rolled, the state patrol reported.

58-year-old, Richard J. Poole, the driver of the semitrailer who is from Superior, Wisconsin, was transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd for non-life threatening injuries.
