Cypress Drive Road Construction Has Begun in Baxter

Construction has begun on a portion of Cypress Drive in Baxter to extend the street all the way to County State Aid Highway 48.

Crow Wing County partnered with the City of Baxter as they build a parallel corridor to Highway 371 to help alleviate traffic. The public can expect closures on Highway 48 once the construction on Cypress Drive reaches the planned intersection.

The County will install a roundabout there before re-opening the highway. It is one of four roundabouts that Crow Wing County plans to build this summer in an effort to reduce traffic incidents county-wide.

Closure dates for Highway 48 have not been released yet. Information on detours during construction can be found on the Crow Wing County Website.
