Bemidji Girl Reported Missing, Found After House Fire Incident

UPDATE: Bemidji Police Chief Mike Mastin and BCA Special Agent Sue Burggraf spoke at a press conference earlier this afternoon about 5-year-old Brittany Rose Balcer who went missing after a Bemidji fire Tuesday.

UPDATE:  The suspect connected with the kidnapping of five year old Brittany Balcer has been identified as 32-year old Jacob William Kinn. Kinn has been booked in the Beltrami County Jail. Balcer was found alive this morning. A close friend of the family said Balcer was brought to the hospital earlier this morning and once she is discharged she will be brought home. According to the close family friend they do not know who the suspect is at this time.

A house fire  was reported Wednesday at 3:30 a.m. on the 3900 block of Irvine Avenue, according to authorities. While processing the scene firefighters discovered the body of an adult and no sign of Balcer.

A press conference will be held in the Training Room of the Law Enforcement Center in Bemidji at 1 PM. Police Chief Mike Mastin will make a statement.
