Zebra Mussels Found In Round Lake

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says that Invasive zebra mussels are in Round Lake near Mille Lacs Lake.

According to a release from the Minnesota DNR, Zebra mussels were reported to a lake association and confirmed by DNR invasive species staff on Round Lake in Aitkin and Crow Wing counties.

There have been two other reports confirming zebra mussels in both Becker and Pope Counties in Detroit Lake and Signalness Lake.

At this time last year there were 10 new confirmed cases of zebra mussels. As of this year we currently sit at 10.

Overall less than two percent of Minnesota’s lakes are listed as infested.
