Wreaths For The Fallen 2015
Last December 3,800 wreaths were placed in the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Little Falls to honor the United State’s fallen veteran’s. With over 400 additional interments each year along with the extension of three additional State of Minnesota veterans’ cemeteries, more and more wreaths along with help is needed to make this ceremony possible. Our Chelsea Brown has more.
It was a brisk December morning as volunteers unloaded the trucks full of wreaths, and cars lined the entrance to the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Little Falls to take part in the Wreaths for the Fallen ceremony.
Osbourne was among the few that presented the colors to begin the ceremony, followed my a singing of the national anthem.
Each branch of the military was presented a wreath, along with a sixth for those who have never been found. A procession followed thanking veteran’s for the numerous sacrifices they have made.
Thomas has watched this event grow from 2006 when there were a mere five handmade wreaths, to now creating a system where families can personalize their own.
And exactly 4,129 wreaths were laid that day.
