Wendy’s Restaurant In Brainerd Included In Those Affected By Data Breach

The Wendy’s restaurant in Brainerd is now among 1,000 locations affected by a massive data breach targeting customers’ debit and credit card information.

According to a statement released by the Wendy’s Company, specific locations affected by the data breach, are those who used payment cards between January 13th and June 8th at the Brainerd location could be impacted by the breach. Several other Wendy’s franchises in Minnesota are also affected.

Wendy’s is working with a third-party forensic expert, federal law enforcement and payment card industry contacts as part of its ongoing investigation. The information possibly  breached includes cardholder name, credit or debit card number, expiration date, cardholder verification value, and service code.

According to the press release, Wendy’s is offering customers a complimentary year of fraud consultation and identity restoration services.
