Wet and Wild 2.0 at Brainerd International Raceway– see website for times

The Central Roadracing Association (CRA) brings its thrilling brand of Superbike racing to BIR’s  historic 3.1-mile Donnybrooke Road Course for it’s fifth and final racing weekend of the season at BIR. In addition to six-lap sprints, the CRA’s  program includes a five-hour endurance race Sunday afternoon for its grand finale. The CRA will be on the track Friday for practice sessions, followed by six-lap sprints on Saturday. Sunday’s schedule includes practice in the morning and the five-hour endurance race starting at 11:45 a.m. Daily admission is $25 and kids 12 and under are free. On-site camping is free with the purchase of a multi-day ticket.

37th Annual Paul Bunyan Stampede– see Facebook events for times

Via Facebook: Held at the Bemidji Speedway, the event last all weekend. Friday: Kicking off the 37th Annual stampede with lots of fun and friends! Come join us. Camping available, no hookups. About 7-8ish, depending on when people arrive, we will kick off the corn hole contest. Saturday: Gates open at 1pm, racing starts at 4pm. Classes running are Mini Stock, Outlaw Mini Mod, Wissota Pure Stock, Wissota Mod 4, Wissota Midwest Mod, Wissota Super Stock and Wissota Modified. Sunday: Gates open at 11am, racing starts at 2pm. Classes running are Mini Stock, Outlaw Mini Mod, Wissota Pure Stock, Wissota Mod 4, Wissota Midwest Mod, Wissota Super Stock and Wissota Modified.

SATURDAY:

Lake Itasca Day Trip from 8 AM to 9:30 PM

Via Facebook: Join us for a day trip to Lake Itasca State Park for a day on the trails with St. Paul’s Newman Center from Fargo. Drivers needed. We will meet at St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center in Grand Forks at 8:00 am with your bike and a sack lunch. We will celebrate Mass at 11 am at the Marian Grotto at St. Mary’s in Two Inlets, MN, then head to the park for a day on the trails. Bike rentals ($4.50/hr or $25/day) are available at the park too, as well as canoe rentals ($7/day). Hiking trails are another option. After an afternoon of biking, hiking and/or canoeing, we will grill supperat 5:30 pm at the beach picnic site and head back to Grand Forks about 7 pm, arriving back at Newman between 9-9:30 pm. $5/person for supper and gas. 40th Annual Jul Fest Kaffe Bazaarat from 8:30 AM-2 PM
Don’t miss this fun annual event! ALL proceeds from this sale will benefit local charities. The 40th Annual Jul Fest Kaffe Bazaar will be held in conjunction with Crosslake Days at the Crosslake Lutheran Church located at 35960 County Road 66 in Crosslake, Minnesota.Besides a wide variety of sewn, painted, knitted, and crocheted items, there will be fall and Christmas décor/gifts, hand-stamped greeting cards, jewelry, gift baskets, plants, nature items, and many other craft items available. Doll clothes, beds, and accessories to fit 18” American Girl-like dolls will be available as well as a Candy Shoppe, and a Bakery featuring pies, baked breads, Jul bread, and lefse. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase for a chance to win a beautiful quilt titled, “Roundabout” with the winning ticket drawn at 2:00pm. Coffee and cookies will be available when the doors ops and a lunch will be served starting at 10:30am until gone. Menu choices are Chicken Salad with dinner roll, fruit, beverage, and pumpkin bar for $7.00 or Shredded Roast Beef sandwich with homemade potato salad, pickle spear, beverage, and pumpkin bar for $7.00.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s starting at 9 AM

Via Facebook: Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions! The walk will take place at Bemidji State University. 6th Annual Lazy Jack’s Festival from 9 AM to 3 PM

Chandler Farm Pumpkin Patch Opening from 10:30 AM-5PM

Deer River Fall Shelf Food Festival at 6 PM

Via Facebook: Banquet at 6 PM with silent auction items up for bid. To be held at Morse Town Hall in Deer River. Tickets $15 for adults, children from 5-10 years old $5, children under 5 are free. All proceeds go to the Deer River Food Shelf.

Itasca’s 9th Annual Autumn Harvest Festival and Lantern Lit Hike from 6 PM to 8:30 PM

Via Facebook: “Making Memories” is this year’s theme for our lantern lit hike. Guides with lanterns will lead you down the kerosene lantern-lit trail as we walk through the photo album of Itasca’s past. Pictures will come to life as you meet characters that will share stories about recreating in Itasca State Park during this family-friendly evening hike. Group hikes will last about 30 minutes, departing every ten minutes from the Jacob V. Brower Visitor Center. Registration for hikes begins at 6 p.m. The first hike leaves at 6:30 p.m. and the last hike will begin at 8:10 p.m. Suitable for all ages! Hike length is approximately one-half mile. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Other activities will be ongoing, including music and a variety of children’s activities. Bring your own picture of recreating in Itasca State Park to pin onto the Itasca Memories board! Be a part of “Making Itasca Memories”!
