Want More Lakeland News On Facebook? Here’s How

Recently Facebook announced that it would be changing it’s news feed, putting more emphasis on posts from family and friends and more tailored selections from news media outlets.

This isn’t the first time Facebook has adjusted its news feed algorithm.  Facebook updates the algorithm that decides what posts users see.  How much users interact with the posts helps influence the changes.

Here is how you can make sure your are still getting news from your favorite media outlets.

Go to the Facebook page of any news publication you want to regularly see in your news feed, like Lakeland News. First make sure the box marked “Like” is checked.  That means you’re following our page.

If you’re on a desktop computer, hover over the downward facing arrow on the subscription feed button. A drop down menu will appear. If you’re on your phone, tap the “Following” button for a similar menu.

If your on your desktop, you should see a “In Your News Feed” drop down, which is probably already set to “default.” This means that anything you see from Lakeland New’s Facebook Page will be determined by Facebook’s algorithm.  It’s based on how often you interact with the posts on our page already.

Now you should be able to see every post from Lakeland News.  This process will also work with any other news outlet you follow.
