Wadena County Sheriff’s Office Respond to Reported Fire

The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 16914 201^st Ave. for a report of a grass fire March 29 around 4:19pm. Deputies arrived on scene and learned that a pine tree had blown down in the wind, knocking powerlines down which started the fire.

Todd Wadena Power was contacted to turn off  the power and the fire was put out before it could spread. The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Verndale Police Department, Verndale Fire Department and Nimrod Forestry.
