The city of Wadena has banded together to make this holiday season an historic one by turning a controversial issue involving their historic nativity scene into a reason to celebrate by trying to break a world record and fill the town with thousands of nativity scenes.

They have attempted to fill every corner of the town with some version of the nativity scene.

The mayor of Wadena acknowledges that although the process of transferring the scene to another location was discouraging he could not be more happy with how the town responded.

The historic nativity scene has been sold to the Wadena Ministerial Association and will have a new home in front of the hospital.

The mayor of Wadena plans to finish off the record by encouraging Wadena residents to put nativity scenes as their profile picture on Facebook.
