Vigilant Guard Training Drill At Camp Ripley

Cars crushed by cement, civilians trapped in buildings. The circumstances may seem extreme… but it’s all just a drill. It’s known as the Vigilant Guard. It combines nearly 2,000 civilian and military first responders to come together to fight a simulated catastrophe. And the drill realistically shows the group what they can handle. But the group known as Minnesota Task Force 1 isn’t the only one that benefits from the drill. The responders say although they don’t want these scenarios to ever happen, it’s nice to be prepared in case they do. And with all the people and moving parts in the drill the biggest lesson they take away from it is teamwork.
