Veterans Recognized at Special Appreciation Luncheon in Brainerd
With over 4,000 troops are estimated to reside in Crow Wing County, a special luncheon was held to thank local veterans for their service.
Veterans gathered at Yesterday’s Gone in Brainerd on Thursday to be recognized for the sacrifices they made for their country. Visitors included current military members from the 194th Battalion and a team from Freedom Flight, an organization that flies hot air balloons to support POW/MIA issues. Even a 98-year-old World War II veteran was in attendance.
“Today’s event was about honoring … the bravery of our United States Armed Forces that have gone before us and have served our country and have died for our freedom,” said event organizer Tammy Ebertowski.
Those in attendance received a free lunch as well as a plaque and care thanking them for their service.
