The Verndale Pirates are sailing along smoothly at 6-0, and they have no signs of slowing down. The Pirates are coming off a 25 win season last year and lose only 2 players off a team that fell to Browerville in the sub-section playoffs. But they say that loss has only pushed them to get that much better.

Despite their strong start to the season, the team knows they need to work on little things such as communication and help-side defense if they want to make a longer run than last year. But it’s the team’s willingness to work to get better and overall attitude that have coaches saying this is the most talented group they’ve had, as well as the most fun to be around.
