Update: Man Dead After Severe Storm is Identified as Brother of Tim Walz

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Craig Walz, 43, died after a tree fell during a severe storm while he was camping at the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Walz is the brother of U.S. Rep. Tim Walz of Mankato. His son Jacob also suffered significant injuries when the white pine tree fell. Walz was a high school chemistry and math teach for St. Charles Public Schools. He was also the St. Charles football coach before stepping down in 2011.
