Suspect Arrested In Connection To Deer River Homicide

The dead body found on Sunday in rural Deer River has been identified and ruled as a homicide.

The victim has been identified as 20- year- old David Alexander Haiman of Hibbing.

On Sunday the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office along with the Deer River Police Department investigated a stolen vehicle and a missing person case. The stolen vehicle was found by law enforcement and was towed to a secured location. Haiman’s body was found in another location other than where the vehicle was recovered.

36- year- old Joseph Christen Thoresen of Grand Rapids has been arrested in connection to Haiman’s death.

The case remains under investigation.
