UPDATE: Bemidji Officers Arrest Three People in Connection with Gunshot Incident on Wednesday

Bemidji Police Officers have arrested two juveniles and one adult in connection with the incident of a single gunshot fired on the 900 block of 26th Street NW.

According to the Bemidji Police Department, Brandon Lee Tahahwah, age 18 of Bemidji, was arrested for reckless discharge of a firearm and flee police on foot. Both juveniles have also been arrested for reckless discharge of a firearm, ineligible person in possession of a firearm and flee police on foot.

According to the release, on 9/1/21 at approximately 4:30PM, Bemidji officers and detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2500 Block of Ridgeway Av NW and located evidence consistent with this incident.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Bemidji police are investigating a report of a single gunshot fired in the city of Bemidji. It happened on the 900 block of 26th Street NW on Wednesday.

The shot reportedly came from between separate complexes in northwest Bemidji. One eyewitness said he heard a single shot and saw three males run away from the area.

The road is currently under heavy construction, which led to many residents having no ability to hear such a shot, although Bemidji police say they have detained three persons in connection to the incident.

No injuries have been reported, and at last report officers have yet to be able to confirm the shot. The search from the shell casing from the alleged shooting and investigation continues.
