UPDATE: Authorities Have Identified The Man And Woman Found Shot Dead In Mahnomen

UPDATE: Authorities have released the names of the  man and woman found dead Tuesday Aug. 9 near Mahnomen.

The two were identified as 68-year-old Elizabeth Thompson and 74-year-old Lynn Thompson.

The Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call about a shooting at a residence 11 miles northeast of Mahnomen around 7:06 a.m.

When law enforcement arrived on scene, they found  Lynn Thompson dead in a Quonset hut and Elizabeth Thompson dead inside the home.

The case is being investigated by the Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office, White Earth Police Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

No other information has been released. Investigators are still waiting for the autopsies results.
