Two Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Wadena County

On Friday, March 25, 2016, at approximately 4:45pm, the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle crash located on County Road 9 near 151^st Avenue.

Hallie Schmidt, age 18, of Deerwood, and her passenger, Justyne Litzau, age 20, of Pequot Lakes, were traveling eastbound on county road 9 near the intersection of 151^st avenue, when Gladys Erickson, age 88, of Sebeka, who was traveling westbound on county road 9 attempted to make a left hand turn into a driveway crossing the eastbound lane in front of Schmidt and Litzau, causing both vehicles to collide in the roadway.

Schmidt and Litzau were transported to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena with minor injuries; Erickson was not injured in the crash. The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office, Sebeka Fire and Rescue, Tri-County Ambulance and K&K Towing all responded to this incident.
