Two Injured In Head-On Crash On Highway 18 Near Brainerd

A driver and passenger were injured in a head-on crash on Highway 18 east of Brainerd on Sunday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on Sunday, March 24 at around 5:06 p.m., an Oldsmobile Alero was eastbound on Highway 18 on Three Mile Road in Oak Lane Township when it crossed into the westbound lane and struck an oncoming GMC Sierra head-on.

The driver of the Oldsmobile, 33-year-old Edward Junior Mcgregor of Crosby, and the passenger in the oncoming vehicle, 43-year-old Carl William Larson of Brainerd, were transported to Essentia-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the GMC Sierra, 26-year-old Nicholas Alan Mogensen, was not injured.

According to the state patrol, all three involved were wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, the Brainerd Police Department, and the Brainerd Fire Department.
