Murder Suspects Back In Court

A man and woman from Grand Rapids appeared in court on a previous indictment for a murder charge, according to Itasca County Attorney John J. Muhar.

Joseph Christen Thoresen, 35, appeared in Itasca County District Court on Dec. 13. Thoresen was indicted on two counts of Murder in the First Degree and two counts of Murder in the Second Degree along with Kayleene Danielle Greniger, 22.

The indictment comes from allegations that Thoresen and Greniger assaulted the 20-year-old victim identified as D.A.H. The report from the Office of the Itasca County Attorney also says Thoresen and Greniger kidnapped and later assaulted D.A.H. with a baseball bat, knife and a machete caused the death.

Thoresen will appear in court on Feb. 23, 2017 and Greniger will appear on Jan. 24, 2017.
