Twins name Derek Falvey Executive VP

Derek Falvey, 33, has been named as the Twins’ Executive Vice President, Chief Baseball Officer.

His responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of the team including contracts, scouting, player development and reviewing operational strategy.

“I believe the addition of Derek Falvey to the Minnesota Twins will markedly enhance our organizational excellence and bring championship baseball back to Minnesota,” Twins Owner Jim Pohlad said in a statement.

Falvey’s career began as an intern with the Indians. He eventually moved up to assistant general manager in 2015. He will finish the season with the Indians before coming to Minnesota.
