Tourism booms in Brainerd’s Summer of ’14

It was a great summer in the lakes country. Great weather with few days in the 90s created what the Brainerd Lakes Chamber of Commerce says was one of the most profitable summers since the recession.
The welcome center and the resorts says they saw an increase of not just out-of-towners but a lot of foreigners coming through the Brainerd Lakes Area.
Whether it was the economy coming back, the great weather or the folklore, the tourists had a strong showing this summer in the Brainerd Lakes Area.
With Paul Bunyan campaigning for the Brainerd Lakes Area, the businesses and resorts are looking forward to a profitable winter season.
