Tour Itasca: Locals Appreciate Grand Rapids’ Offerings

The birthplace of Judy Garland and the Land of Oz are just one of many reasons tourists travel to Grand Rapids each year. And today, the community came out to learn that and much more.

For five hours, locals travel all over Grand Rapids on a bus to locally-owned art galleries to historical preservation sites, soaking up all the attractions and culture the city has to offer.

In its 14th year, Visit Grand Rapids organized Tour Itasca, a local tour to educate business owners and staff members on the variety of attractions and events that go on in the Grand Rapids and Itasca County area. This is an effort to promote tourism, where local businesses can direct visitors to places to visit when they’re in town.
