The Thirty Lakes Watershed District Has Been Formally Terminated

The Thirty Lakes Watershed District has been addressing the lake water quality concerns since 1971.

Recently a petition was filed with the Board of Water and Soil Resources by Crow Wing County to terminate the Thirty Lakes Watershed District on behalf of 1,100 residents.

The Thirty Lakes Watershed District was officially terminated on October 27th. The reason for the termination is to remove an unnecessary layer of government.

Those involved in the decision believe this was a step in the right direction.
