The Paul Bunyan Babe Statue Is Back On Its Feet After Being Swept Off Its Feet

A 6,000 pound Babe the Blue Ox statue in Brainerd was swept off its feet this morning due to the heavy rains and winds from the early morning severe thunderstorm. The gusting winds were calculated at over 50 miles per hour and raked through central Minnesota. The 60 year old statue which is located at Paul Bunyan Land was found in the parking lot on its side. There was a hole in his side from being impaled by a sign in the parking lot and one horn was askew. Nonetheless, according to Louis Moon, the co-owner of the Brainerd amusement park Babe is going to be fine. The park opened as usual and work crews were able to put Babe back on his feet again.
