The Minnesota National Guard Conducts Largest Rail Movement in Over a Decade

The Minnesota National guard is sending over 1,300 pieces of military equipment by railway from Camp Ripley to Fort Irwin in California. This is the largest rail movement the Minnesota National Guard has conducted in over a decade.

This huge project is part of a special training exercise and they have been preparing for this movement for nearly two years. In order for this mission to be successful it takes countless hours and hundreds of service members. The soldiers will be loading and unloading more than 400 rail cars. Doing this in a quick and organized fashion is essential to their training. After the training exercise is done they will load the rails again and return the equipment to Camp Ripley.
