Terry Tibbetts Named Next White Earth Chairperson

The White Earth Nation will soon welcome its new chairperson after an election concluded Tuesday, June 14.

Terrance “Terry” Tibbetts has won 65 percent of the votes, defeating Melinda “Mindy” Iverson, 1,279 votes to 674 votes, according to a release.

A new District 3 representative was also selected through the White Earth general election. Eugene “Umsy” Tibbetts has won 54 percent of the votes, defeating Barbara Fabre by 8 percent to be the next district representative.

Both Terry Tibbetts and Umsy Tibbetts will be sworn into office next month.
