Teddy Bear Band Puts on Show for Cass Lake-Bena Elementary

Students at Cass Lake-Bena Elementary School were in for a special treat Wednesday when they were visited by the Teddy Bear Band.

The band is celebrating their 40th anniversary and is putting on concerts for kids all over the state. The Minnesota band has never been to Cass Lake-Bena before, but they visited the school as a part of their “Week of the Young Child” celebration, which was created to recognize the importance of childhood development.

Singing, dancing, and giant bears filled the gymnasium as over 260 kids in preschool to second grade took the floor.

“The Teddy Bear Band is doing all sorts of fun learning kinds of songs and games with the kids, and it’s full participation with all the audience members, young and old,” explained Cass Lake-Bena Elementary Early Childhood Coordinator Erica Bryant. “Kids are having fun. They’re dancing, they’re spinning, they’re jumping, they’re clapping, and they’re giggling, and most of all, having just a lot of fun.”

The Teddy Bear Band will continue to put on shows for the remainder of their anniversary year, adding on to the over-10,000 performances they have put on over the years.
