They’re the least experienced drivers on the road. And they account for the largest percentage of accidents on the road. To help make Brainerd Lakes Area teen drivers safer, Baxter Insurance Group held their second annual Teen Drivers Seminar last night in Baxter.
The seminar featured emergency responders and police explaining tragic accidents they’ve seen that could have been avoided. As well as an insurance rep explaining the ins and outs of car insurance. They event even had a texting and driving simulation as well as drunk glasses with the goal is to make teen drivers safer.
Police say the biggest danger for teens rides with them everywhere they go, their cellphone. And even a quick look can be costly.
Police say texting and driving is just as dangerous as drinking and driving. And encourage driver to wait to text.
