Student Teddy Bears Get Surgery
Blackduck students took a visit to Sanford Health on Friday morning for some teddy bear surgery.
Sanford’s 75 perioperative nurses were all involved in setting up the event, which is happening for the fifth straight year. The hope is that students will learn about careers in medicine and gain confidence in visits to the hospital.
Second grade kids brought their bears to stations that showed off medical equipment before heading to the operating room. The stuffed animals were given wristbands to show they had been cured.
