Communities are coming together to clean after Thursday’s dangerous storm came through Bemidji. According to the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, winds of over 90 miles per hour were recorded. That’s the equivalent of what the public should expect in a minor tornado, even though only straight line winds were detected.

Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji saw trees fall all over the property. Sparky’s Construction, along with other volunteers, donated time and effort to start the cleaning project on Friday morning. In addition, trees were down in Itasca State Park. Phone lines were also still down on Friday afternoon.
