A storm sent a historic building up in flames on Friday morning.

Fern Town Hall was one of two buildings that burned in that time. A barn at the intersection of Highway 89 and Grange Road also caught fire.

The hall has been around for over a century in Becida, Minn., and its loss was tough to swallow for locals. Fire department officials spent about three hours controlling and cleaning up the blaze after responding to a call at 10:15 a.m.

There is no estimate regarding damage cost at this time, but Bemidji’s deputy fire chief did say the building was “destroyed”.

The building’s outer structure remains standing.
