State Troopers Emphasize Winter Driving Safety

Winter driving conditions are here. Today Triad and Minnesota State Troopers held a winter driving event to educate drivers about how to stay safe on snowy and icy roads.
Some of the speakers’ safety tips were: how to handle your car during a skid, what to do when you’re in an accident, what wipers are best, to have your lights are on when your wipers are on and what tires to use.
State troopers held an icy roads simulation this afternoon at Camp Ripley to show how slick roads can be here in central Minnesota.
The Camp Ripley demonstration coincided with Brainerd’s event where the troopers also show videos similar to their outdoor demonstration.
But the main message today is to simply slow down, and stay safe. They say speed kills; and it couldn’t be any truer in the winter.
