Staples-Motley Football Upsets Barnesville at State in Double OT Thriller

After a week of waiting, the football state tournament began Thursday night. Not every team was in action, but in Class A, Staples-Motley was making their first appearance since 2004 taking on Barnesville at St. Cloud Tech High School.

The Cardinals went on to upset Barnesville in a thriller, downing the Trojans 46-44 in double overtime. Colbe Tappe scored five touchdowns on the day.
