Spring Brings a Reminder for Motorcycle Safety

Unsafe speed and failing to yield to a motorcycle. Those are the top two factors that lead to motorcycle accidents. With the weather warming up and summer coming back to Minnesota, more motorcyclists are expected to be on the roads. And the Minnesota State Police say other motorist should be on the lookout for them.
The Brainerd Driving School teaches their drivers to treat motorcyclists different than other cars. Motorcycles can stop more quickly, can be difficult to judge how fast they’re going and can be more easily hidden behind other cars.
Police and the Brainerd Driving School say, it’s up to the motorcyclists to remember these few tips to better stay in other motorists’ mirrors.
Another danger spring motorcyclists face is sand from the winter still being on roads. The sand makes the road more slippery and harder to stop.
