Special Session Back On The Table

Since the end of the 2016 legislative session, key state officials are still talking about a special session.

Governor Mark Dayton and Lieutenant Governor Tina Smith plan to meet with House Speaker Kurt Daudt and Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk to discuss a possible special session.

Both Republicans and Democrats trying to find common ground on a $1 billion public construction package and a $260 million tax relief bill.

If a special session were to happen it wouldn’t take place until mid-August because of the upcoming political conventions.
