Speaker Discusses Living “The Life of a Solopreneur” in Bemidji

Michael Thomas Sunnarborg, founder of The White Box Club, facilitated a discussion at Bemidji’s Mayflower Building today about the distinct differences that come with being a Solopreneur.

Thomas Sunnarborg states, “Today’s session was really about focusing on yourself and having the tools and the skills to stay focus on your business but also about connecting with other people.”

Thomas Sunnarborg is a certified health and wellness coach, best-selling author and spends a lot of his time conducting workshops.

“I have a coaching business, I do career coaching and I also started a group called The White Box Club for people who got a white box after a layoff, so I started that group a few years ago; so I support people in career transition and I also do speaking and writings about career transitions,” says Thomas Sunnarborg.

The White Box Club meetings create opportunities to learn from industry experts, share best practices, and meet others who are also exploring or already immersed in entrepreneurship. Each meeting of TWBC includes introductions, a topic presentation, coaching tips, and time for networking and making new connections.

“The momentum really picks up when we start creating with other people, so when we start to share our ideas when we let people contribute their ideas and collaborate that true creativity comes in collaboration and creation with others,” says Thomas Sunnarborg.

One thing that Thomas Sunnarborg focused on during today’s presentations was how important personal relationships, connections, collaboration, information and social media play a role in the success of one’s business.

“I think the interesting part about being an entrepreneur is that there are a lot of distractions, and there’s a lot of things that can take us away from our goal. So it’s important to keep focused on our goal and our destination, so keep our eyes through the windshield and not to much in the rear view mirror, but to make sure that we honor and enjoy that the journey is just important as the destination.” says Thomas Sunnarborg.

These weekly meetings are held every Wednesday at Bemidji’s historic Mayflower Building. The purpose of the meetings is to provide entrepreneurs with support and resources by other successful entrepreneurs.

Everyone is welcome to attend the entrepreneur meet-up. no membership is required, but an RSVP is recommended.
