Kids in the Brainerd area now have a great new place to play and learn. The Minnesota Children’s Museum has installed a Smart Play Spot at the Brainerd Public Library. The exhibit was opened by the kids, for the kids Monday at the ribbon cutting ceremony. The exhibit promotes early childhood literacy by encouraging letter recognition, vocabulary development, and a love of words and reading. The exhibit encourages parents to engage their children through games, activities, or questions that stimulate playful learning. The Brainerd exhibit includes a boat, garden, farmer’s market, picnic area, and a mural of Brainerd’s Lum Park.
