Seasoned Sebeka Softball Seeks Sectional Success

After falling in the section championship game the two years prior, the Sebeka softball team finally broke through last year, winning the section championship game and making it to state for the second time in school history. Now that they’ve got a taste, they’re hungry for more.

The Trojans bring back almost their entire roster from last year, and the championship experience they gained last season looks to power them in 2019.

Seven starters return from last year, including their ace Ava Rathcke, who pitched over 130 innings with a 2.36 ERA, and gives the team a chance to win every game.

Behind her is a defense that the team says is a strength for them this year, especially given how well they play together.

The offense, which averaged over 7 runs per game last year, has a mix of power and speed that the team will look to utilize to get them back to the state tournament
