Saturday Is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

This year, the U.S Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 27. Drug Take Back Day is held each year in the fall and spring.

The public is asked to safely discard any unwanted or unused prescription drugs at an authorized collection site.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, you can find a safe disposal site near on the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency’s searchable collection site map here.

Most disposable sites take prescriptions, over-the counter, and pet medicines. According to the Minnesota Department of Health, properly disposing of medications can help prevent misuse, diversion and accidental poisonings.
