Sanford Bemidji Opens New Breast Center

About one in eight US women will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime, but Sanford Bemidji is hoping to change those numbers with their new breast center. Sanford Bemidji showed off their new center to the community today with an open house at their main clinic. The new center will service any lumps or bumps associated with women’s breast health, and will serve as a resource for the community.Sanford Bemidji sees thousands of patients each year, and the new center combines all of the services under one roof.

Ultimately, Sanford Bemidji hopes the new center will serve as a reminder to get checked, because early detection is the best protection. Sanford physicians recommend getting a mammogram at age 40 or earlier if there is any history in your family. At the new Sanford Edith Breast Center, patients an take the initiative and schedule their own mammograms without a doctor’s referral.
