Sage on Laurel in Brainerd Hosts Soft Opening for ‘Passport’ Rebrand

Sage on Laurel in downtown Brainerd is only a couple of days away from its official rebrand to Passport, and the restaurant rang in the occasion with a soft launch Wednesday evening.

While Passport hopes to keep the ambience that made Sage on Laurel special to the Brainerd faithful, co-owners Jacquelyn and Matthew Calos are looking forward broadening the community’s taste buds and introducing cuisines from every corner of the world.

“More flavor than anything, you know,” Matthew said. “Let people experience things that they normally wouldn’t around here. People are very in-the-box here in Brainerd.”

“It’ll be a little difficult sourcing some of the ingredients that we need to get,” added Jacquelyn. “But we’ll do the best with what we can get and bringing in different flavors.”

Passport will officially open to the public on Friday at 11 a.m. and will be serving Greek cuisine all May long.
