It’s the most prestigious award given out to a girl’s basketball player, and an award that has never been given to someone in our viewing area. However, that all changed tonight as Roseau’s Kacie Borowicz was named Minnesota’s Miss Basketball.

The senior guard was one of five finalists for the award handed out tonight at the Minnesota Girl’s Basketball Coaches Association Banquet. Borowicz finished her career with over 3,000 career points, passing Megan Taylor as Roseau’s all-time leading scorer. She made it to the state tournament each of the last five years, winning it all in 2017.

Borowicz will continue her basketball career next year as she will play for the University of North Dakota.
