Remains Found in Clearwater Believed to be Missing Waubun Woman

Clearwater County, Minn., – Authorities discovered the remains of a female northeast of Alida, Minn., in a wooded area shortly after 10 a.m Friday.

Authorities were originally searching for a missing Elbow Lake woman when they found the remains. The body is believed to possibly be that of Hayle Lynn Soyring, 28, of Waubun.

She was reported missing last Wednesday after her family could not find her. She was last seen in Mahnomen.

On Thursday, authorities found a burned-out car that matched the description of the car Soyring was driving. The remains were found nearby the next day.

According to the press release published on the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office Facebook, “Police do not believe there is any threat to the public and are working with the Grand Forks County, ND Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.”

This is still an active and on-going investigation.
