Refugee Speaker set to present in Baxter

Ron Branstner, a native of California, plans to present information regarding refugee resettlement and illegal immigration. A member of the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps, Branstner has traveled to a few cities in Minnesota spefically discussing how it’s effecting the area.

Brainerd resident Bill Dian is the organizer in getting Ron Branstner, educator on refugee resettlement, to the Brainerd Lakes Area. Hosted at the Journey North Church in Baxter, Dian explained that the is event is to help clarify what is going on in Minnesota regarding this issue.

Coming from previous speeches by Branstner, he speaks on behalf of his experience. He patrolled the borders of Texas and Mexico from 2008 to 2010 and does not support illegal immigration. His concern on illegal immigration deals with the influx of immigrants taking revenue out of the small communities.

Dian explained that he’s received numerous calls from people hundreds of miles away talking about the event and that he can only hope they come and listen.
