Red Lake Nation Relaxes Border Restrictions

The Red Lake Indian Reservation is opening its borders for the first time in more than five months.

Red Lake Nation officials announced Thursday that border security enforcement will be removed on October 3rd, and members and non-tribal members will be able to enter the reservation as long as they wear a face mask in public areas. Tribal employment and programs which were stopped due to COVID-19 safety measures have also been reinstated.

Despite the relaxed restrictions, Red Lake Nation remains under medical martial law.
